A Return (of sorts)

Hi.

It's been a while since I've sat down to write.  There is so much to say, so much to confess, so much to explain that one post won't cut it.  So instead, I bring you...

Yet another copycat post.  Listen.  It's only a small part of my current issue so we will start here.

This is Lyddie from I Am Chic on the Cheap.  She has a great sense of style and I found this little gem on our favorite site The Pinterest.  (when you add a "the" it makes it more regal sounding, no?)  The truth however, is that this was not my inspiration photo.  I can not for the life of me find the original image I saved, although it too was from The Pinterest.  I found Lyddie's gorgeous version by searching "lace top with pink".  Turns out that a large amount of people have already done this kind of look.  So as per usual, I am more than a day late and quite a few dollars short.  Again, this is exactly my main blogging problem!

The image that I failed to save showed darker pink pants, more like mine, and she had a pink bubble necklace on which reminded me of my Target necklace.  I was like "duh" why have I never thought of that?  So I gave it a go.

{A note here, I hate my arms so I actually wore my light denim jacket over this even though it was hot as heck.  I don't know why I didn't snap photos with it on, knowing that I hate my arms but there you have it. (that was not a plea for kind words, so don't feel like you need to gush)}

Some day I will find the original image, and give that person the props she deserves, but for now, enjoy Lyddie and all of her great looks!

And now I must give you a warning.  Perhaps not the very next post, but soon this blog is going to have to get deep.  I have a few things on my mind and am working my way up to sharing.  Nothing earth shattering,  just deep and gutsy.  HA, that's appropriate. LOL

Until next time,

Alyssa

  1. I'm sure lost-photo-lady will understand. And I spend my entire life many hours late and so many dollars short ... you are, at least, in company. I'd add that nobody will wear this quite the way you do. Pretty choices, by the way, and you look pretty in them. Wee, sparkly shoes look adorable.

Did you know I stole your haircut? Not exactly because I don't have as much hair as you do ... but I cut off about 4 inches and am learning to part it sort of like you do. But you had to know I'd do it one day. You still have the best hair.

Goofy today, deep tomorrow ... might be a good balance!

  2. Alyssa, you look gorgeous. And go ahead and get deep - it's nice to read something that either moves me or makes me think. Gutsy is good!

  3. Hey Alyssa, It's so nice to see you! Honestly, you don't even need the 'copycat' photo. Your outfit is very pretty, suits you well, and the way you've styled it, takes my eyes right to gorgeous face. Like Jan, I covet your hair. Of course, we both know that my hair would never agree to the style, but I can dream. I love the scalloped edge on your top, and your shoes are so pretty; I would love to see a close-up of them one day.

Share just what you want to share, when you want to. Blog when the spirit moves you, and know that we are thinking about you!

  5. Hi Alyssa,
I've been wondering where you were. If you ever need an ear, remember I'm just down the road from you. Hope everything is okay. You look fabulous -- and like everyone else, I love your hair. The "arm" thing -- you look young, vibrant, and beautiful and that includes your arms!

  6. Alyssa---I'm with your neighbor above...I love your hair. And you do look young, vibrant, and beautiful. Pink and lace are a wonderful combo; you wear them well. Hopefully, you're having a lovely week, and are feeling lovely in it. Smiles.... Lynaea @ EveryDayBloom.com

  7. I'm new to your blog- and love how real your fashion is. It inspires me because it's beautiful AND attainable.

Just thought I'd come out from lurking to let you know how much I admire you. It's not something people are told enough....

    1. Nicole...I replied directly to you from my phone, but I never know if they reach the people when I send them that way! I just want to say here also, how very much your comment meant to me. Thank you for unlurking enough to share.
